Hey Dee it really can knock your confidence when your hair thins. I know a lot of people suffer with thinning hair for various reasons and I’ve heard pregnancy can be one of those reasons. Stupid hormones sometimes lol. Barrel brushes are great for adding volume. Also the Joico hair shake as I mentioned in previous comments is fantastic. X

Hey Amy. I know the feeling. Unfortunately I can’t take any supplements as I’m ill but I’ve been using some great viviscal strengthening products. I will be reviewing them on the blog soon. I just want to give them some more use before I write up reviews. X

Would love to win some decent brushes. I am useless at doing my own hair, maybe some decent tools would help? Also 2 of my daughters recently chopped off 14in of hair to donate & raised over 1k in the process. They would also appreciate them

My hair is in such a bad state of repair, these brushes would be a life saver for them. My eldest daughter would also love them as she has yet to find a brush that she can brush her hair properly with – she has spiral curls & no brush we have bought to date has been able to tame them! Fingers crossed! xxxxx

Aww I say her curls are fab. She’s probably cursing them now but will love them when she gets older. I have actually used a great Argan mask and curl hair cream from beaver that is great for curly hair. Makes it a bit more manageable. X

My hair is my downfall . Im brutal at managing it and and tools that would sort it out would be a blessing

    • apalershadeofbeauty
      23rd July 2016 / 1:26 AM

Hi Sars to be honest the tools are great but it’s what you use on your hair too that can really help out. I find the shampoos with loads of chemicals really dries out my hair. I’ve been trying out different types of shampoos and conditioners over the past few months (post coming soon) and my hair is in much better condition. It’s also great making your own hair mask of natural organic jojoba oil or avocado oil to rub into your hair and leave for a good few hours before washing it. It’s also great for scalps too. These natural oils can be bought in any health shop and don’t cost much. They also last a long time. Coconut oil is also another great natural product to use as a hair mask. X

What a fab prize! With having the spinal cord compression I am losing power and grip in hands and arms and I think looking at these they would make life a little easier. Ooooh bad hair story. I once was getting my fringe cut and the stylist have me an asymmetrical fringe by mistake! Basically she turned me round too far and chopped it was a disaster lol

Aww Alison your gas. I had many a hair disaster over the years. The major beibg when I cut off chunks of my hair when I was about three. It didn’t grow back right at all so at 7 I had to get it cut really short in order for it to grow back even and strong. Let’s just say many a time I was called a boy which really hurt me but hey it gave me great hair lol I’m sorry to hear everything your going through too. I have to have my hubby wash my hair in the shower for me. X

      23rd July 2016 / 1:34 AM

These brushes really help reduce static. If your hair is dry I would recommend using a good hair mask and also trying to avoid hair products containing sodium lauryl sulphate. X

This weather leaves my hair so flat.. Hate it. These brushes would definitely give it a lift.. And me too!!

    • apalershadeofbeauty
      23rd July 2016 / 1:36 AM

Hey Nuala the different sized barrels are great for adding some volume. Joico do a great product called the hair shake which you put into dry hair which gives extra texture and volume. X

  12. 16th July 2016 / 6:07 PM

I would love to win these brushes.. Hair is a huge thing for any woman, having had chemo an loosing all mine as a teen looking after my is a HUGE thing.

      23rd July 2016 / 1:40 AM

Hi Geraldine I say hair is a very important thing. I’ve been loosing so much of mine with being ill and it certainly hits your confidence hard. I find these brushes very gentle on the hair. I try avoid anything too harsh as I’m scared of loosing any more hair. As I said to Nuala there’s a great product from Joico called hair shake which adds volume to the hair. My hair dresser uses it in mine. X

Fab prize, well done dolls on sharing the love Let me see.. my daugher who is 12 has the most gorgeous blonde hair going. It has lots of different tones going through it..all natural too i might add, however, it is sooo long & soooo thick that when it comes to washing & blow drying it the arms are pulled of me. It has now come to the stage that she just gives it a blast with the dryer, a quick brush & ties it up and is not getting the opportunity to show off her beautiful locks.. Im sure having the right brushes will make the dredded task a hell of a lot easier on poor mummy xx

    • apalershadeofbeauty
      23rd July 2016 / 1:45 AM

I’m am so ridicously jealous of her golden locks. I can picture the likes of rupunzel lol. To be honest just blasting her hair with the hair dryer and not using the highest setting over a long period of time is greatly stopping serious damage to her hair. It sounds in fantastic condition. The right brushes would certainly help style the hair, in particular large barrel brushes. I would also recommend getting a good paddle brush and using a good hair mask once a week. Make sure to spread it evenly throughout the hair particularly the ends and tips. When the hair is very long it’s important to treat the lengths of it. X

Lol I’m laughing here I say they would get plenty of use in your household. I’m lucky in one way I never had a sister. I don’t think I could have coped with all my bits and bobs being borrowed lol. Then again I love seeing the bond sisters have. X

Fabulous prize! My hair could do with these amazing brushes to give it body & style as it’s always so limp & frizzy.

    • apalershadeofbeauty
      23rd July 2016 / 1:49 AM

Hi Sandra. These brushes certainly do both. Just make sure your not using too heavy a conditioner in your hair as it may be weighing it down and causing it to look limp. X
